Toll Free Zippo |
Sorry I have not written in awhile. I have been
very busy. Friday was the end of the marking
period at my school and I had to get a whole
bunch of work in. On Wednesday, I rode Zippo and
I cantered him for the first time since he has
been at Sam's (where we are boarding him). He did
very nicely, but he was a little stiff because of
the cold air and non-cantering for awhile. The
only problem I had with him was that once he
cantered, all he wanted to do was go! I found out
that I AM going to fair this year with him! Yay!
We still have alot of work, but I think he will do
just fine!
*Autumn*
PS: We are going to enter him in: Horsemanship,
Halter, Western Pleasure-Novice, Dressage-green
as grass 1, and something else. I cannot wait
until summer!!

Alot of work left |
Well, the first time I tried to ride Zippo, he
tried to buck me off. My mom said that the look
on my face said "Hell nah! Not again! Not another
crazy horse!". I totally believe her. That is
exactly what I was thinking! Well, I took his
head to my knee and made him do a few tight
circles and he was fine the rest of the night. I
rode him again yesterday. He wasn't as good as he
was the first time I rode him, but at least he
didn't try to buck me off! That brings me to my
2nd tip.
***If a horse is trying to buck or rear or act
stupid, just take the inside rein and drag
his/her head to your knee and make them do a few
tight circles. If you do that, they are unable to
do anything stupid.***

Toll Free Zippo |
I haven't written in a couple of days, but it's
all good. Gimly got delivered to the place where
we are bording him today. It was very exciting!!!
But it also brings me to a tip:
**Don't ride a horse on the first day it is
delivered to wherever you are going to keep it!**
My grandma told me this and it was probably a
good idea because Gimly was really hyped up! I
think he id a good horse though. *sigh* I don't
get to ride him until tomorrow :(. well, g2g!
Homework stinks and I am SUPPOSE to be doing it
right now...bye!

My First Entry On This Site!! |
First of all, I would like you to know that I am
only 13 years old and I have been riding for
about 1 year. Though I am young and green, I have
been through many things with horses. In the
summer of 2004 my grandmother had leased me a
beautiful BEAUTIFUL bay roan named Cody. I loved
the horse with all my heart...but he was
dangerous. We have been seperated for months now
because my grandma refused to buy him for me and
he was sold to somebody far away. Even though he
reared over backwards with me, bucked me off I
don't know how many times, bit me hard enough
that it left a scar, threw me and galloped back
to the barn, and stepped on my foot, I knew he
loved me. He trusted me and we had a very special
bond. I cried long and hard when he was sold. But
I moved on to my green broke horse named Eagle
(Star's Sahara Eagle, to be exact). I spent many
long hours and days working with that horse and I
came to love and trust him more than i did Cody.
They were both dangerous though. One day Eagle
had had enough and decided to pull a rodeo stunt
while I was riding him. I threw myself off and
landed on my feet with the reins in my hand. I
have never really trusted him after that and I
have not ridden any horse for months. Wait, I
take that back, I went to a speed show a couple
weeks after that with Eagle and we got a 5th
place ribbon. But I still don't trust him and am
very afraid to ride him. That is why today,
january 9th, 2005, we bought a new horse named
Toll Free Zippo (nicknamed "Gimly"). I will spend
many weeks learning this horse and you will be
able to read all the things that happen. Yay for
you! And ME!!!!
