First of all, I would like you to know that I am only 13 years old and I have been riding for about 1 year. Though I am young and green, I have been through many things with horses. In the summer of 2004 my grandmother had leased me a beautiful BEAUTIFUL bay roan named Cody. I loved the horse with all my heart...but he was dangerous. We have been seperated for months now because my grandma refused to buy him for me and he was sold to somebody far away. Even though he reared over backwards with me, bucked me off I don't know how many times, bit me hard enough that it left a scar, threw me and galloped back to the barn, and stepped on my foot, I knew he loved me. He trusted me and we had a very special bond. I cried long and hard when he was sold. But I moved on to my green broke horse named Eagle (Star's Sahara Eagle, to be exact). I spent many long hours and days working with that horse and I came to love and trust him more than i did Cody. They were both dangerous though. One day Eagle had had enough and decided to pull a rodeo stunt while I was riding him. I threw myself off and landed on my feet with the reins in my hand. I have never really trusted him after that and I have not ridden any horse for months. Wait, I take that back, I went to a speed show a couple weeks after that with Eagle and we got a 5th place ribbon. But I still don't trust him and am very afraid to ride him. That is why today, january 9th, 2005, we bought a new horse named Toll Free Zippo (nicknamed "Gimly"). I will spend many weeks learning this horse and you will be able to read all the things that happen. Yay for you! And ME!!!!
